NEW STRAIGHTWALL SGLB 3048 GRADE LEVEL BOX ENCLOSURE FROM CHANNELL TEMECULA, CALIFORNIA, -- September 2, 2008 – The SGLB 3048 36 Series, Channell's latest addition to the Shutter Box Series family of grade level boxes, features a 36-inch depth that permits management and storage of over 600-ft. of fiber cable, plus housing of the industry’s largest fiber splice cases. Unlike tapered box designs, Channell’s SGLB family of boxes feature a straight sidewall "I Beam" construction combined with a high rib design that greatly enhances the cover’s load-bearing qualities. The design provides support for the cover’s load across the entire vertical sidewall of the box. Light weight and super-strong, the SGLB3048 36 Series enclosures are an excellent alternative to concrete boxes and result in less breakage, with no heavy equipment required for installation. The SGLB3048 36 enclosure with a plastic lid is perfectly suited for greenbelt applications. Where applications require heavier duty load bearing specifications, a polymer concrete cover and ring can be added. Channell’s factory-installed threaded stud system allows a full range of options, including the installation of a galvanized rack system, horizontal brackets and a two-position swing arm bracket. These equipment mounting options permit proper placement and management of cables, splice covers and other equipment and can be pre-installed at the factory or installed in the field after installation of the box. The SGLB 3040 36 grade level box features a high quality HDPE thermoplastic body with a cross –ribbed sidewall design that eliminates sidewall deflection in extreme soil conditions and secures box placement during final grade. Additional features include a single-piece green thermoplastic cover with a variety of logo markings; a universal "L" bolt security system that eliminates the worry of lost cover bolts; a unique "T" style overlapping cover design that improves appearance and reduces soil migration into the box; and four winterized drop access points. If desired, a cable locator/marker can be added in a protected recessed area on the underside of the cover.
